Dancing with the Law of Perpetual Transmutation

The Law of Perpetual Transmutation teaches that circumstances and things are always changing according to our thoughts. In essence, ideas are either moving toward becoming real—or fading into nonexistence.

A couple of years ago, our family experienced deep tragedy. I knew I needed time to heal. The problem was, I was running a large performing arts studio—with staff, students, and parents, all with their own challenges. At that point, I couldn’t even manage my own grief, let alone support theirs.

So, I began working with a business broker. I had made up my mind: I was going to sell the studio and focus on my family and our healing. Within just a week, our closest neighboring dance studio reached out. The owner invited me to lunch. That meeting led to more—eventually with both of our husbands involved. Instead of buying the studio, this couple suggested a different idea: what if we merged? (What you want comes to you if you hold to the thought decisively enough.)

At that moment, it felt so right. I believed we would be stronger together, and that with their help, I’d finally have the time and space to heal.

As we worked together over the following months—planning the partnership, revising schedules, blending two studios—the Lord enlightened my mind with idea after idea to help us succeed. I felt the goal becoming real. The areas of strength each of us brought to the table complemented each other beautifully. It was a good match.

But then, the week we were set to announce the merge to our students, everything changed. The other couple reverted back to their original idea: they wanted to buy us out instead. I was stunned. The inspiration and insight that had once flowed so clearly suddenly stopped. The goal, the vision—it died with that shift in direction.

And yet, even though that particular outcome fell apart, it ended up being a blessing—but not before another heartbreak, which is a story for another time.

Looking back, I can see clearly how the laws were in play. When I knew what I wanted, and held that desire with clarity and faith, everything I needed came to my mind. I took action. I watched as that seed of a thought began to transform into reality. But when our paths diverged and they chose a different route, everything stopped. Like a sprouting plant suddenly yanked from the soil, the natural growth process came to an abrupt end.

Does that mean the goal was wrong? Or that the Law of Perpetual Transmutation didn’t work? Not at all.

There’s another vital law: the Law of Agency. No goal, no matter how inspired, can override someone else’s agency. At that point, that law took precedence. But that doesn’t mean the others weren’t still operating. In fact, the Law of Relativity and the Law of Polarity were clearly in motion, offering new perspective and contrast.

So if a goal doesn’t work out—if the seed doesn’t reach full bloom—it’s the perfect time to ask: What good can still come of this? Have faith that God loves you, that He wants good things for you, and that if one door closed, it’s only because something better is waiting.

Don’t give up. Choose a new thought, a new idea, a new direction. And protect it. Don’t let discouragement creep in and poison its growth. If you’re aligned with the laws of abundance—and your desire honors the agency of others—it will come to pass. In its own way. In its own perfect time.
