Finding Peace in the midst of Chaos part 1

What does the word "Peace" mean to you? Does it bring thoughts of beaches and waves crashing? A campfire and an open night sky? Maybe a quiet place curled up in a cozy chair with a good book and hot cup of cocoa? All of those scenarios are peaceful environments but what about creating a peaceful environment in your life that is available no matter where you are? I’m talking about inner peace.

It is true for all of us that peace in your life comes and goes. Actually, according to the Law of Perpetual Transmutation, everything in life, every object, and every circumstance is constantly developing into form or dissipating out of form. I’ve also heard it said that circumstances and things are perpetually coming or going according to your thoughts. These ideas may sound foreign but if it helps bring peace into your life, it might be worth a try.
We as a society are waking up to the idea that our thoughts affect the world around us. You may have heard about manifesting the life you want or visualizing what you want to create. But what does that actually mean?

According to the Law of Perpetual transmutation, it means that what you think about, you bring about. If your current situation is full of chaos and stress, then you have two options. Let’s take a look at each one.

Option one: You think about your situation and imagine that it is only going to get worse. A clear picture forms of how awful your life is going to be. All the negative impacts flow freely to you and fill your head with misery. Suddenly you feel depressed, frustrated, and defeated. You have just planted an “idea seed”.

In the book Hidden Treasures: Heaven’s Astonishing Help With Your Money Matters Leslie Householder explains “This situation may be compared to the changing forms of water. The situation has not manifested itself in the physical world yet (just as vapor is not yet rain), but for a moment, the circumstances required to make that situation a reality were actually beginning to gather, as a cloud gathers in the sky.” If you were to continue to dwell on that set of circumstances they would begin to become reality.

Now, let’s look at option 2. When you’re feeling the chaos creeping in, you might find a sense of peace and calm by concentrating on a “default vision”. A default vision is essentially like a vision board except, instead of things, it’s a thought you want to come true.

To create a default vision, take a deep breath and imagine feeling grateful for one thing that is good in your life; a friend or family member, a safe and comfortable home, a dependable vehicle or that you have plenty of food to eat. Feeling grateful gives your mind a momentary reprieve from the impending doom and allows room to create a new scenario. From this renewed mindset, think of something simple that you want to happen.

Maybe you want to have lunch with a friend, find something you misplaced or travel somewhere exciting. Spend a little time playing around with this idea. Let it take shape in your mind and develop into something that brings you peace, comfort, and happiness. Once you feel the peace, you’ll know that you have created your default vision. Hold it in your mind and feel grateful for this new scenario taking place. I suggest writing it down! According to The Law of Perpetual Transmutation, as you focus on being grateful for this default vision and don’t allow yourself to doubt, it will begin to take shape.

When things feel out of control and you need to find peace in the midst of chaos, simply stop what you’re doing, take a few deep breaths, and focus on your default vision. Take the time to feel grateful as if its already happened and let the peace wash over you.

The choice is yours. You can choose to focus on thoughts of doubt and fear or you can choose to focus on things that you want to happen. Ultimately, whatever you choose to dwell on is what you will bring into your life. We all struggle with things in our lives that are unpleasant and having a default vision is a simple way to find peace in the midst of chaos and create the life we want.
