I’ve been so impressed with the parenting success principles I’ve been learning from Nicholeen Peck, I felt compelled to help her get her message out to more families. Her episode on a BBC reality show in England made such a powerful, unexpected impact that people across the country are now begging her to come back and offer free parenting workshops.

If you haven’t seen her episode yet, you need to. Two extremely rebellious teenagers from England were sent to live under her family’s strict rules in Utah for 10 days—with a cameraman documenting every moment. What was expected to be an explosive freak show turned into something miraculous. Even the producers were stunned by the transformation. And it all happened in just 10 days.

After seeing that episode, I signed up for her 10-week implementation course and was so excited—because my children aren’t even rebellious like those teens! I thought, If she can help those kids in 10 days, imagine what I could do in 10 years by applying just a few of her simple principles.

As I got to know Nicholeen better, I learned about her goal to raise enough money for her family to return to England and spend a month teaching free parenting classes across the country. That’s no small feat. And while her book is very popular, I know from experience that book sales alone often don’t cover the cost of an international trip for an entire family.

I believe in her mission so deeply that I offered to help raise funds for the cause. That’s why we’re hosting a special webinar together:

If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I stopped doing events back in 2011 to focus on my family. I even paused doing teleclasses because, frankly, they still required a lot of attention. (Big thanks to Shantel McBride for keeping our Genius Bootcamps alive during my sabbatical.)

But this webinar? This isn’t business. I’m not being paid, receiving commissions, or compensated in any way. I’m doing it because I believe in strengthening families worldwide. That’s my focus right now.

• We both spoke at the TJEd Conference in Salt Lake City in 2010, but didn’t meet or hear each other’s talks.

• I contributed a chapter to a 2012 parenting book centered around Nicholeen’s work—still not knowing who she was.

• We share the same spiritual beliefs, and we both homeschool our children.

As we’ve gotten to know each other, it’s felt like we’ve been living parallel lives. We’ve both faced the unique challenges of having a message to share, while striving to keep family first. And through it all, we've experienced the kind of serendipitous encounters that keep propelling us forward.
