It Just Wasn’t Quite Ready

While working through Mindset Mastery and focusing on my Phase II goal, I was zeroing in on a particular area of business. I felt prompted to reach out to an acquaintance with an idea I had for a business I wanted to create. I shared my thoughts and pitched the idea to her, and she loved it. I explained that I was in the middle of moving and not quite ready to roll it out yet. She said that was fine and encouraged me to get back with her in a month or so when I was ready.
When the time came to move forward, I messaged her—but I didn’t get a response. Old thought patterns immediately kicked in, and I assumed she had changed her mind. I felt discouraged. However, around that same time, I secured another client for my business—a huge blessing.
Several months later, I ran into this same woman at a business conference. She mentioned that we should still talk about my ideas. About a week later, we had a virtual meeting and realized there was a real opportunity for collaboration between what I was doing and her venture. During that meeting, I learned that when I had messaged her and hadn’t received a reply, she was dealing with some family challenges. I realized it was never about me, and my original prompting had truly been inspired. The space where my ideas and her work would come together just wasn’t ready all those months ago.
The whole process needed more time to gestate. I’m grateful for this reminder that sometimes things don’t unfold as expected—and that doesn’t mean the seed wasn’t good. If I’m inspired and feel the Lord is guiding me in my ventures, holding onto that belief is enough. Every worthy goal consecrated by the Lord will eventually reach its full gestational state. There’s no need to doubt, worry, or force it. It will happen as we focus each day on just the next right step.
