The Law of Perpetual Transmutation in Action

I’ve been studying the Laws of Thought (also known as the Laws of the Universe or Law of Attraction) for some time now. As I reflect on my life, I can see moments where I was living in harmony with these laws—long before I knew what they were called. One experience in particular stands out to me as a clear example of the Law of Perpetual Transmutation.
"Circumstances and things are perpetually coming or going according to your thoughts."
A few years ago, I felt a strong pull to contribute financially to our family. I had been a stay-at-home mom, but I knew it was time to start using my gifts and talents in a new way. The challenge? I needed to work from home so I could still be present for my children. I didn’t have a clue where to begin. I had heard of people working remotely, but I live in a small rural town in the Midwest. That just didn’t seem like a realistic option for me.
Still, the desire kept growing. Every day I thought about wanting to work, wanting to do it from home, and feeling stuck. Eventually, I reached a point of desperation. I knelt down and poured my heart out in prayer.
"Please help me find a job where I can work from home. I can use a computer. I can make simple things by hand. I can do bookkeeping..." I listed every skill I could think of. Then I added my non-negotiables: “It has to be from home. It has to be flexible so I can show up for my kids.”
I didn’t know what would happen. I just trusted that if this was something I was truly meant to have, God would find a way. I let it go.
About a month later, I was helping with a booth at our town’s annual chili cook-off. I struck up a conversation with another volunteer, and as we wrapped up, he casually asked if I was looking for work. I told him I was—but only if it allowed me to work from home and stay flexible for my kids. It turned out he had just the thing. I took the job and ended up working with him for about two years!
In the second year, I began working more closely with the owners, and I quickly realized their business values didn’t align with mine. I still appreciated the flexibility and income, but the environment started to wear on me. Eventually, we mutually decided not to renew my contract.
Looking back, I can see how my job arrived because of my clear and focused thoughts—and how it left when my thoughts shifted and no longer aligned with the experience. One powerful lesson I learned was that next time, I want to be even more intentional. I’ll ask not just for a flexible, remote job, but also to work with people who uplift and support me.
The Law of Perpetual Transmutation was at work the entire time—responding to the vibration of my thoughts. And now I know better how to direct that power moving forward.
