The Vacuum Law of Prosperity teaches that in order to attract what you truly desire—whether it’s something you want to be, do, or have—you have to create space for it. That includes letting go of old, limiting beliefs and thought patterns that are blocking your ability to receive.

There was this one time I really wanted a rug for my office. We had converted the dining room into my workspace, and the hardwood floors made it feel so cold and bare. I was determined to find a rug to make it feel warm and inviting. We went to several stores, and I found a few I really liked—even loved—but they were all way out of budget. So I left feeling disappointed and honestly a little defeated.

But instead of staying stuck in that feeling, I prayed and envisioned the rug I wanted. I held onto the belief that somehow, it would show up at just the right time.

A couple of weeks later, someone from our church called and invited us over for dinner. We said yes, of course, and when we arrived at their beautiful home, I walked into their living room and immediately noticed this gorgeous, shaggy, plush rug. I asked her where she got it, because it was exactly the style I’d been looking for.

She smiled and said, “Well actually, we’re looking to get rid of our rug because we’re getting a new one. Do you want it? I can give it to you for $50. Is that too much?”

I nearly choked. Too much? It was an 8x10 rug in great condition, easily worth $300–$400. And it was exactly what I had envisioned. I said, “No! That would be perfect!” I was so grateful. Just a few days later, I had a beautiful rug in my office.

Sometimes, we chalk these things up to coincidence... but really, they’re tender gifts from a loving Heavenly Father. Because I was willing to believe and make space—for the rug, yes, but also for the possibility—it came.

This was a small but powerful example of a true principle. I’ve seen it work many times in my life, but this one was so simple and yet so profound, I had to share it.
