Most of us understand that what goes up must come down. Waves crash on the shore only to return to the sea, and the heat of summer eventually gives way to the chill of winter. These rhythms remind us: we can trust in these truths.

Right now, we’re facing a virus that’s causing worldwide panic. People are stockpiling food and supplies. Businesses, schools, and entire cities are shutting down in an effort to slow the spread. Things feel heavy—uncertain. It’s tempting to pull the covers over our heads and pretend this isn’t happening. But hiding won’t solve the problems we’re facing.

When I first heard about this virus and the possibility of a government-mandated quarantine, I was deeply concerned. My oldest daughter was living 30 hours away. As a military officer, she was warned that all armed service members would have a short window to travel before a full ban took effect. I was overcome with worry, doubt, and fear that she’d be stranded in some remote location, far from home. My thoughts spiraled into a storm of “what ifs,” and fear began to cloud my ability to think clearly.

That’s when I realized: I wasn’t applying the very tools I’d learned in my Mindset Mastery class. I remembered The Law of Rhythm—that when I’m in a low place, I can hold on and be grateful, because an upswing is coming. I clung to that truth. I prayed for my daughter, and chose to believe—really believe—that things would work out.

And they did. My daughter made it home safely, without a single complication. She’s been with us for over a week now. We’ve played board games, watched movies, and made beautiful memories together. What first looked like a crisis turned into a time of peace, connection, and so much laughter. It rang true.

I’m so grateful for these laws. Life will always bring challenges, but now I know I can anchor myself in the truth that this too shall pass. Just like spring follows winter, and the sun rises after the moon lights the sky—there is a dawn coming. The warmth of summer is on its way. All we need to do is believe and cling to gratitude.
