There are at least two different kinds of people who pursue a better lifestyle for their families—one rooted in financial freedom and happiness.

Person #1 is a hard worker. He has a dream and is fully committed to making it happen. He moves forward with hope and belief that he’ll find a way, making numerous sacrifices along the journey. But in the back of his mind, there’s a nagging question: "What if it doesn't work?"

Person #2 is also a hard worker. He too has a dream and is fully committed to making it happen. He moves forward with hope and belief that he will find a way, and he too makes sacrifices in pursuit of his goals.

But the difference is that Person #2 can say with absolute confidence, "I KNOW everything is going to work out, because I know I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing."

The paradox lies in the fact that Person #1 may have a lot more going for him, but Person #2 enjoys more happiness and peace of mind along the journey.

So, what’s the difference?

Person #2 is actively engaged in work that aligns with his life's purpose. Not only is he pursuing his dream of providing a wonderful lifestyle for his family, but he’s chosen a path that brings him deep satisfaction—even if there were no financial reward.

And here’s the twist: although Person #2 will likely face even greater obstacles than Person #1, it’s HE who will have deeper reservoirs of faith to draw from, and more peace of mind in the face of potential disaster.

This is the benefit of choosing work that aligns with your purpose—something you have a special interest in, and a unique set of experiences or talents to offer.

The truth is, life has a natural way of nudging YOU toward discovering and accomplishing your unique contribution to the world—something only you can do. There’s something inside you urging you to cast aside fear and pursue what your spirit is calling you to do.

Reason may try to talk you out of it.

But I assure you, when you take even the smallest step in the right direction, you'll feel deep down that you’re on the right path. Trust that feeling! Don’t let “reason” convince you to stay where you are.

As you move forward, storms may come, but you WON’T be disturbed by them. That’s true financial freedom. Financial freedom isn't about the money in your bank account—it’s about how true you are to your soul’s purpose.

For Person #1, there’s no guarantee of lasting peace of mind. While he may reach any goal he sets his mind to in the short term, if his work brings him no joy or satisfaction beyond the paycheck, he’ll always live in uncertainty.

Uncertainty and unrest are Life’s way of getting your attention and steering you toward a better direction.

The natural benefit for those who live in alignment with their purpose is that God strengthens them to overcome obstacles and gives them the endurance to face inevitable challenges.

No question, each of us has a unique work to do—something that only we can accomplish. You’ll find the greatest support when you let go of your fears and begin engaging in that work, even if it starts small and simple in your spare time.

I promise you, your faith will be tested to see how committed you are. It could be years—or even decades—before you feel fully “in the flow.” But when you’re engaged in your purpose, even in just a small way at first, you’ll find that everything you truly need comes through, just when you need it (sometimes not a moment sooner).

I believe that’s God’s promise: Follow your heart, and He’ll provide for you and your family... until His work THROUGH you is complete.
