The Law of Vibration in Action

The Law of Vibration states:
Your thoughts control your personal vibration. Change your thoughts, get emotional about them, and you'll change what is attracted to you.
Napoleon Hill put it this way:
"Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, the mind will achieve."
Easier said than done, right?
Well… if you say so.
Because here’s the truth:
If you say you can, or if you say you can’t—you’re right.
Your words and your actions are constantly shaping your reality. The energy you put out is what you get back.
Let me share a quick story.
I'm a part-time substitute teacher, and one day I filled in as the high school P.E. teacher. The regular teacher left a simple plan: let the students play different basketball games. One boy stood out—he was athletic, agile, clearly capable. But for some reason, he couldn’t make a single basket.
Curious, I started paying attention—not just to his form, but to what he was saying. At one point, I heard him tell his friends, "Man, I can't make any of these shots! Watch… I'll just miss it again."
Then, right on cue, he missed an easy shot. And instead of frustration, he laughed and said, "See! I told you!"—as if he was genuinely surprised it happened.
But should he have been?
The words we say—especially the ones we say with conviction—become instructions to our subconscious. Our minds don’t distinguish between “just kidding” and deep belief. If we speak it often enough, especially with emotion, our minds will find ways to make it true… even if it’s something we don’t want.
So here’s a real question:
What are you saying to yourself?
-
“I can’t afford that.”
-
“I’ll never have that.”
-
“I guess I’m just not meant to be successful (or happy, or wealthy, or loved)...”
And then we wonder why our lives reflect those exact statements.
So how do we shift that?
Here’s how:
Step 1:
Make a list of everything you want to be, do, or have.
Don’t hold back—dream big. What kind of house do you want? What car would you love to drive? What kind of relationships light you up? How do you want to feel when you walk into a room? Where would you love to travel?
Write down at least 100 things. (I dare you!)
Step 2:
Create positive affirmations that reflect those desires—and start planting them everywhere.
Write them on cards and post them on your mirror, in your car, inside your wallet or purse. Read them while you’re waiting in line or brushing your teeth.
Instead of “I’ll never afford that,” try:
-
“I’m learning how to create wealth.”
-
“I can afford things that bring me joy.”
-
“I’m meant to thrive.”
In the case of the boy with the basketball?
Try: “I make every shot! Watch… I’ll sink this one too.”
At first, this might feel silly. You might think it’s just fluff—some “PMA” (positive mental attitude) nonsense. But hear me out:
It works.
Not just because it sounds nice, but because it rewires your internal vibration. And your vibration determines what shows up in your life.
So yes—it may be easier said than done.
But the moment you start saying something different…
You give yourself permission to be something different.
Because if you say you can—you’re right.
