These Prosperity Laws Aren’t Working!
Oct 11, 2016
Here’s a question I received that I think is worth discussing. The reader wrote:
“Since reading The Jackrabbit Factor and feeling elated, it seems that our finances have gone down the tubes. I have not been able to pay bills on time, money is taking longer than usual to come in, we have bounced checks, etc. I know right now I am dwelling on the negative, but wondered why this is happening just at the time that I feel I have discovered the answer?”
Here’s my (slightly modified) reply:
When you’re aiming for a big shift, it’s common to face equally big pushback. These setbacks aren’t punishments—they’re tests of your commitment to the goal. Success doesn’t come from what happens to you, but from choosing to think right when everything around you tempts you to panic. As we know, there is opposition in all things.

In other words, the adversity is the opportunity. Think right—right now—and you unlock the door to even greater success than would’ve been possible without it.
Pause and let that sink in for a moment.
The good news is, the Supply is unlimited. Everything we need originates from Original Substance—and nature is abundant. Prosperity truly abounds.
So if we’re experiencing “lack,” it’s not because there’s actual lack. There’s only abundance. In this very moment, you have what you need. It’s only when we think ahead—five minutes or fifty years—that we look at our “limited” supply and worry it won’t last.
But right now, we can choose to be grateful.
We have air to breathe. We have a heart that pumps life-giving oxygen through our body. We have stored energy to keep that heart going. Yes, in this moment, we can be calm and grateful—because God has provided everything we need, right now.
Whatever troubles may come tomorrow, in this very moment, God has already provided abundantly. Worry is resistance to a situation that hasn’t even happened. And as you may have heard, what we resist, persists. I love this quote from Mark Twain:
“I am an old man and have known a great many troubles, but most of them never happened.”
When we worry, we cut ourselves off from receiving the very answers we seek.
Prosperity becomes hidden and elusive. But if we relax—if we hope, expect, and look—we'll find the solution, because by law, it must exist. Every problem comes with a solution, thanks to the law of polarity.
Challenges are for our good. They stretch us and help us grow. And when they turn our thoughts toward our Heavenly Father, they are, in fact, a blessing. Because we are promised that when we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us.
Here’s something beautiful from another book I love that approaches the law of attraction from a Christian perspective:
“‘Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity’ is true, for when man reaches his limit, he hopelessly stops his efforts. When he relaxes from his strain, the Law has a chance to reply to his desires, and things begin to change for him…
“The mind is like a sponge. We squeeze it hard with our anxious thoughts, but not until we can release the pressure and allow the sponge to take its normal shape can it become absorbent and receptive again.”
(Working with the Law, p. 82–83, Raymond Holliwell)
Understanding the seven laws becomes especially important when things don’t seem to be going “right.” The whole goal is to think right when things go wrong. When you do, the best possible outcome will become yours—and will eventually reflect in your reality.
Feeling gratitude in the middle of the storm is one of the fastest ways to flip the switch and open your mind to solutions.
